In 1973, RelComm, Inc. began manufacturing computer and data communication devices. 1976 found the company designing its first proprietary product and selling it through the Black Box catalog, a data communications sales catalog organization.

RelComm manufactures products of its own design, ranging from current loop interfaces (with over 300,000 units installed worldwide) to the popular remote fault management unit, RelComm's Code Operated Switch. The company has brought over 70 products to market through various distribution channels. RelComm is able to draw on a large pool of technical support from California's Silicon Valley and from their own manufacturing expertise, to successfully sustain all customers.
